what does everybody choose to go with when the going gets tough?... dont wanna limit this thread to just one type of fish
-
perch rapala
-
for me i have two. the 1st is a chartreuse plastic swim bait and my 2nd is a Phebe in the med size in gold color. and in the order that they are in is how i would grab them out of my box.
-
RattleTrap in blue and silver or crawfish
Rapala in chartreuse... DD ;D ;D ;D
-
My always "have to" have on 1 rod while fishing the river is a Mepps #5 spinner!!!!
-
gotta have a chartreuse worm and a white in red spinner bait.
-
Tube jigs under a slip bobber is always a no brainer!!
-
dynamite
-
Worms always work, minnows. There is a reason the 'pros' can't use them. But using what works best in a good spot is being an opportunist. 8D
-
Blue jointed Rapala
-
Jerkbait 8)
-
#3 panther martin spinner
-
wolly hawg tail or a rapala in shad colorts
-
dynamite
We used to call that a "Dupont Plug "
-
Well, I put down the fly rod and pick up the coffee grinder(Aka Spinning rod) In all seriousness, you cant beat live bait.
-
fatheads
-
if nothing else in the book is working then live bait it is! just an opinion from an opportunist like alot of us out there.
-
crawlers
-
My pick is live bait, after all that's what most artificials are trying to imitate!
-
Minnows, Spin Beetles, Tubes... Not in that order though
-
Coors Light ;D

Coors Light ;D
Would that be blue and silver ?
-
Actually one of my top two color combos, white/chartreuse also.

The question was: what does everybody choose to go with when the going gets tough? That means, if you're (meaning YOU) are a notorious live bait fisherman, what do you do if it's not cutting the cake for you ?
Or in plain english, if you didn't have an orange and white lead pin bobber, a jig head and a minnow, what would you do ? :whistling: :whistling: :rotflol: :rotflol:   :rotflol: :rotflol: :whistling: :whistling: ;D

GO HOME!!
-
White 1/8 oz. marabou roadrunner.
One of the greatest multi-species lures ever invented.....
-
jointed rapala tube jigs under a slip bobber can catch about anything that swims also. I try to avoid live bait..., but if the going gets tough nightcrawlers will catch any fish that swims.
-
the helicopter lure haha catches everything so they said i seen it on tv when i was like 5 and had my parents buy it for me and never caught a fish thats when i learned info merrcials were a bunch of bull
-
at least you learned young before it got expensive
-
either a purple Mr. Twister,
a pink/white bucktail,
or a orange willow leaf crawler harness...........
-
GO HOME!!
Agreed!!!
-
My when the going gets tough bait...ONE OF THE THREE BAITS IVE BEEN THROWING ALL DAY !!!!
My when all else fails bait.... could be any of the 300 baits i have on the boat.... that i have no idea why i purchased....... usually I just "go home".

if there not biting on the 2-3 lures I use in the first hour or so,no need to switch-up cause I know its gonna be a tough day.....
-
By the way then I just go home!!!! ;D

Like I always say if Dynamite and a weighted treble hook don't work, no sense trying one of those food imitating things. Could always wait until they stack up to spawn and use the .22 magnum.
-
wow i actually started a thread that gets more than a few replies... thats a first...

I almost always have something with a worm or fathead hanging in the water when I'm in the canoe.
On the 2nd pole I'm working. White Mr.Twisters, rubber worms for bass. Spoons for trout, of course tipped with a crawler. lol
When I'm trolling for trout. It's always a x-mas tree tipped with a crawler or shiner.
-
When the slidders or power crabs wont work cant go wrong with the oakleaf bug.
