Jezuz, I hope that ain't right. I go every year the week before Memorial day and it's usually in the mid to high 40's.

A guy from my town was on Rangeley all last week, highest temp. he saw was 39 and fishing deader than doornail.  As an aside - smelts in the Rangeley region running $25 a dozen! :o  ENJOY! ;D

Great. On all accounts. Better buy another bottle of Makers Mark on my way up.

No temps on any of the lakes over 42° in area.  Rich has been deadly slow and Rangeley for the most part. Some people consider 8-10 fish great action....me not so much..and def glad i get my own smelts...cause inflation prices are crazy this year. I'll  be up for 4 days next week. I sure hope Rich picks up. Goodluck....and if ur really bored Azicahous is still slow but u can get 40 or so a day.....they almost equal 1 fish from Rich. Lol
If you're too busy to fish...........You're too Fa..king busy!

Surface water temps ranged from 44F to 46F when we showed up last Wed. We saw 48F in the narrows when we left yesterday. I was worried my fish finder was reading high but it was confirmed against 3 other units and the IFW man when he came to visit. Still not a very fishy trip so it's definitely early. A few 6lb lakers were caught and a good amount of short salmon. Only two keeper salmon for 5 days of trolling- brutally slow but still a fun trip. I love that lake, it's so undeveloped.
