Snowmobiler through the ice on Hebgen....
« on: Mar 12, 2007, 11:53 AM »
Anyone know anymore about what happened to the guy who fell through the ice out on Hebgen on his Sled?  I heard he died but was with two other friends and they didn't have any issues.  But they didn't save him???  Seems odd???

he was the last one in line and hit open water and sank, so they couldn't find him.

That just doesn't sound smart man...  Why wouldn't you follow the other guys tracks?   I've been snowmobiling many many times at night and its always safer to watch the guy in front of you an follow his tracks unless he dissapears in a tree well or in this case through the ice....

Very unfortunate...

Largest Rainbow and Brown trout I have ever caught both came out of Hebgen Lake.  23" brown and 24" rainbow.

Haven't been their fishing in about 6 years....YIKES  gotta change that!   ;D

Good Fishing!

looked like a huge lake.  but it makes sense there are only 'bows and cutts and browns: everyone i saw fishing looked to be in about 15-25 fow
