bump I would like to know the same I fished this a few years back and got some crappies but I think I got the tail end of the spawn. I would like to give   it a try a little earlier.

went out today did very good with large mouth seem to have the best luck with fast baits like rattle traps. Fished for some crappie in the back bay by the launch you can see a ton i guarantee you would be able to net them by the way they are schooled up. However i did land 3 in about 15 mins

Alice is a place I'd love to get back to someday.  Been a long time since I fished out of a boat there.

not big average about10 depends how you measure them mouth shut or mouth open only keep them 91/2 mouth shut

a guy i was talking to at the launch said he goes there every night and gets crappie that range from a pound to a pound and a half. I'm not to sure if he bs'ing or not but there are definite numbers of crappie around 10 inches

where do you guys fish for these crappie on this lake from shore or a boat.... do they school up in the lake by the island or do the go west of the bridge in the creeks... not to familiar with lake alice just the surroundings  but would give it a shot to try it out...

I am personally a bass fisherman and know the lake well for bass but i just started with crappie and found them on any timber in the water that i fished. The hard part was getting them to hit

I agree they are hard to get to hit. Whats everyone using? Plastic,minnows,worms?

i got mine on a chartreuse tube workin it fast over top of them and it caused a reaction strike but that lasted about ten mins. haha figures right. However I didn't try live bait...
