I fish them right off the Summerville side breakwall / pier at the end of the line where the Genny flows into Lake Ontario.
Generally, I don't walk too far out; on the river side of the pier, and at a certain point, boulders line the edge.
 I stop just before that.
Didn't go last year, but 2 years back wife and I took 22 on one morning during the first week of June.
I'm not targeting the monsters though-- I use live leeches ("jumbo" if available) and catch 1.5 to 3 pounders.
Big guy's are in there though, and I'd guess that a larger bait will target them better.
 Good luck; have fun.....................

My go-to bait is a fresh cut up fallfish. They're really oily and smelly, just what a big kitty likes.  ;D  They're abundant in sluggish creeks and easy to catch so I always have a steady supply. Chicken livers work well too but I don't like messing with them. A nightcrawler works good after dark when the bait stealers have gone to bed. I always run a really heavy duty hook as I have had 10lb plus cats straighten wire hooks.

Will do. Just tell me when!

Don't need them anymore. Cheekto-Vegas / West Seneca area is no longer mysteryville!

Cats are biting big time!  Hit up one of our favorite spots last night and caught close to 40.  Nothing huge, 14lbs was the biggest.

These are some nice big cats! My friend and I will be driving through the Cattaraugus Creek area in 2 weeks and we've heard it is awesome for catfish at this time of year so we want to fish it. We are just looking for some info on where some access points are or some other tribs in the area that would be good for catfishing any information is greatly appreciated thank you in advance!

Anywhere along the creek between the 5/20 bridge and the lake is good.
We get them at the end of Buffalo Rd.
Although a lot of the deep holes have silted in over the years there.
Another good spot is the last marina on the west side of the creek before the lake.
There's spots to the right of the boat docks where you can sit and shore fish.

Good luck.
