Probably more warped than funny.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

I'm installing a new stove top in the kitchen island.
The old one worked fine but was original (1994).
Hard to keep clean and looked old.

Normally a very simple job.
But with this cold, and it's a doozy, not so fun.
I'm breaking a sweat turning screws.  lol
1/2 way there and took a break.
Donna headed to Home Depot to get me a 4" electrical junction box and cover - do the job right, or don't do it at all!!!

lol

Never a "simple" job.

The hole in the countertop is larger than the new top will allow.

Solutions -

1) New countertop - Yea, that will be quick and cheap.

2) Bush it with 1/2" furring strips and then caulk around the stove top with white RTV to seal the edges and hide any cracks.

#2 is the winner.  At least until we see how it turns out.
If it looks like crap, it will end up being a new countertop.

Fudge!

No sparks ….no flames was my motto.

Always made a chiropractor’s appointment when I knew I’d be working under a counter top.

That’s whet the new guys were made for.
…in my world anyway.

A new faucet in the kitchen is a bear. Cramming yourself upside down backwards is for the young

I got the shims in to lessen the hole.
Glued and screwed!
Now to let the glue set overnight.
Also mounted the electrical junction box and realized I need another 1" conduit fitting.
Like I said, gotta do the job right.
Another run to HD in the AM.
Should then be a slam dunk.

Right!  ::)

"No sweat piece of cake."  My dad says this every year when it's time to remove the mower deck and help me attach the snowblower to the John Deer Tractor. It might not be difficult to most of you out there, but it's such a pain in the *** for me I loath doing it every year. But if we get deep snow a 54 inch snow blower is much appreciated on our 400 foot driveway.

Here is it from last year ready to go.

Once I was in a meeting at the U of R with architects and engineers. There were 5 of us and we were all named Bob.

Talk about a good laugh.

Yes I did Dom. That’s why we call our son Rob.
Only one person still calls me Bobby. (Once in a while) My good friend and next door neighbor. Doesn’t seem to bother me coming from him.
