Title: Cascade update
Post by: Duck-Slayer on Jun 01, 2011, 05:47 PM
well it was good too start with 5 days ago but simmered down the last 2 days, but I ended up catching a 46.5" tiger musky on cascade the other day, there's a pic in the McCall paper tomorrow I believe, I will post a pic when I get a moment.

it was OK, it slowed down after the first day or so, there was anywhere from 5-10 boats fishing in the area I was and they got thinned out quick, got hit hard for the last 5-6 days....

Did you get a weight on that, Matt?

not a very accurate weight, around 25ish, I figured about 30 while holding him, he is a bit light after the winter, must have been tuff on him, the was only 1.75" off the length of the state record, this one was 46.5 and the state record is 48.15.... figured he was about 8-10 pounds light compared too what he would have been during the summer and fall, kinda like a bear is.....

That is awesome!  I will admit my ignorance, did now know we had muskies in Cascade.  Were you trolling?

Me and my family are headed up to Cascade this weekend and I am hoping to get the kids into some good perch action. I have only ice fished this lake, poorly at that, and would appreciate any area tips that might increase our odds for a good day of fishing. Preferably a kid friendly fishing spot but beggars cannot be choosers. Thanks all Jon

from what I here from my father in law in Donnelly the fishing has been hit and miss, but mostly poor since the last week in May..... he goes out about 2-3 times a month, just went out the other day and they only got 3 smally's.....
