Stupid wind ripped off the black plastic I had covering my raised beds for last 2 yrs.

Maybe I'll plant next year instead of installing new plastic.

I found a new pickle recipe that I'm going to try next year.
Whiskey Pickles!
It's pretty much the same recipe as for dill pickles but with the addition of 2 oz. of whiskey or bourbon per pint jar before packing the cukes.

I'm still on the fence whether it's a waste of good liquor or not, but I won't know until I give it a try.   ;D

Its only a waste if you dont use the liquid. After your done with the pickles, use the pickle juice to marinate some chicken in it.

Drunken pickled chicken........I LIKE IT!

I added a good portion of bourbon to the last batch of applesauce we put up. My Bride was skeptical until she tasted it. She suggested a " Bourbon apple pie".

Pretty cool Dom. I've got a plant that is starting to produce blossoms in this low light. I'll get some pics tomorrow. I still don't know exactly what it is. I just call it the "Crazy  Plant" . It'll throw blossom stalks till April.

As I Age, I find my love for radishes seems to multiply out of control. Is this normal?  ::)

Nice Dom. Playing in the dirt already!
Truck after truck have been unloaded at the store. Mulch is piling up all over the place. Fencing, soil, lawn mowers, grills, gazebos, seed, fertilizer..........spring is just around the corner.

I'm waiting another month before starting anything in the hot bed. Unless we get a real warm spell.
