I have steelhead that average 5 1/2 pounds up to almost 8 pounds, and tigers, brooks, and browns that run from 12 to 20 inches.
My original niche market was raising trophy size trout and selling them whole frozen to taxidermists from coast to coast. Thanks to shipping costs and increased overhead it's just not profitable anymore.
Contact me via P.M. or email at [email protected] if you're interesting in helping me clear out the trout pond. My phone number is also (260) 894-9055. Texts won't work as this is a landline and I don't own a cell phone.
Located near Ligonier, Indiana Noble County. No fishing license needed and no limit.
I'll post some pictures of current fish here in the next day or so.

Ran the seine through a very small part of the pond today. Three of about 5 steelhead, 12 browns and 3 tigers in the net with one pass.
Female steelhead ~ 4 1/2 pounds about 22 inches
Male Brown ~ 17 inches
Female Tiger Trout ~15 inches
Steelhead are averaging 5 lbs. up to almost 8 pounds.
Didn't get a brook but they are in the pond

I bet they are, I've only caught a few small ones and was hard to see the pattern.

Syracuse is just down the road about 20 minutes. The wife is a school secretary there after retiring from teaching.
Did you know people from Syracuse New York settled there and named it Syracuse? Same goes for Angola and Auburn which are towns out there. A town north of here, Orland, was first settled by people from Vermont.
We have the second largest Amish community in the United States also 20 minutes away (Shipshewanna) which is a tourist spot. Unfortunately they refuse to wear masks or get the covid vaccine. Really disappointed in my Amish friends. One of them really believes their is a microchip in the vaccine. ::)

Here's a more intense smaller male from a few years ago.

Fishhogger came out today with his stepfather and caught 6 steelhead from 4.14 lbs. to 7.40 lbs., and 2 tiger trout females from 1.49 lbs. to 3.18 lbs. He let his stepfather catch most of them. Sizes went from 14 3/4 to 20 inches on the tiger trout to 21 3/4 to 26 1/2 on the steelhead. The 3.18 pound tiger trout is bigger than our state record.

Fishhogger,
I was thinking of the lower caudal fin wear in one of the steelhead. Doesn't normally happen in an earthen pond and fish that are not kept at high densities in raceways. Probably happened when I put them in a floating pen at higher densities when they were small to protect them from the larger fish in the pond until they reach a larger size.

Nice job guys!

Great fish!
Taxid, was wondering if any of the Amish folks contracted the Covid that you know of?

Yes they did. There was a big outbreak in Lagange County after the weddings cranked up last year. And of course they get together in large groups for church ever other week. But they still aren't wearing masks and refuse to get the vaccine as far as I know. Really disappointed in my Amish friends. One actually believes there are micro chips in the vaccines.

A fly rod would be a blast. Possibly need backing for the big steelhead.
If I would have held on until this fall, like I usually do, the steelhead would have been in the double digits weight wise.

Looks good fishogger

Looks good Fishogger! I think I saw you at Home Depot last week. I was going to say hello, but wasn’t sure if that was you or not. Anyways, that smoked fish looks awesome!

Looks fantastic Fishogger. What was the initial part of that recipe... any brines etc..? I'm rather new to smoking trout, however after a Sunday afternoon at Taxi's I have some fish to prepare.

Here is a couple more. I didnt get any pics of the other two. We had a great time and now have a pile of fillets to put on the smoker. By the way Tater=Brad,
Jake and Jackson were friends of mine, and the little guy is a friend of mines son. I have two daughters and neither one wanted to go, so i him up. I knew he would really enjoy the opportunity.
I enjoyed seeing the pretty colors on the fish.

So far :
23 steelhead from 4 lbs. 2 oz. to 7 lbs. 7 oz.
5 Brown trout 1 lb. 8 oz. to 2 lbs. 4 oz.
3 Brooks Trout from 2 lb. 4 oz. to 3 lbs. 4 oz.
4 Tiger Trout from 1 lb. 8 oz. to 3 lbs. 7 oz.
The brown trout are the most common but the steelhead are so much larger and more aggressive they are hitting the baits before the browns get to them. I think there are maybe about a half a dozen steelhead left and the other species catch will pick up.
Sorry no new pictures. Customers are supposed to forward pics. I've been too busy weighing and tallying to take pics.
Should still be about 100 fish left if not more.

More fish taken out later today.
3 steelhead to 6 lbs. 9 oz.
5 browns
1 tiger
1 brook
They had been in the cooler for a while before pictures were taken.

More fish another day. Mostly browns now as the more aggressive steelhead are being fished out. I counted 7 or 8 steelhead left at feeding time. Only steelhead caught was 5 lbs. 12 oz. and the browns were running almost 2 to 3 pounds. Hoping to get all the trout caught out by the end of May before the ospreys show up in early June.
