Title: wnba playoffs
Post by: pinche on Aug 17, 2006, 10:07 AM: Well its finally here , probally the most anticipated sporting event of the year ::) who do you guys like in this years wnba playoff ? I'm going with the home team (Detroit shock) Those 3 game series should be a battle after the grueling 34 game season.

but still im thinking its more than half. ::) One time I was on a flight from Phoenix to Mich and there were a few WNBA players on the plane OMG Its odd to see a 6 ' 3 woman.

hopefully forever, its just a sport that encourages women to look like men, i cannot support that ;D

The two main reasons I care #1) I think its kinda cool that detroit teams are doing good ( from any sport)
#2) There coach is Bill Laimbeer and I have liked him since he played for the pistons plus I believe he may be , being groomed for an NBA position soon.

other than that I have not watched a game or dont even know

obviousally not many people cause there was about 2-3 thousand people at the Palece last night :-\

I think this year is there 10th year anniversary (i believe I could be wrong) I think they get $$ from the nba to support the payroll etc.... :-\

how long will the NBA put up with it, without payback, its more the owners than NBA, getting more use out of there courts

Kinda funny I assumed game % would be at the Palace but I just read that the shock are forced to play at Joe Louis Arena. Apparently they screwed up and scheduled a Mariah Carey concert and its obvious which event brings more $$$$$$
