I'm a big Wolverine fan but have to tip my hat to ND. Just too many weapons all around and a swarming "D". I hope it's a nail biter like the Syracuse game. Now those fans got their moneys-worth!!!!!!!!!!!

i think ND is overatted, they barely got by on week 1, then smoked a crappy young penn state with a new QB and no D, i think michigans D line and backers are going to get into quinn's head big time and the speed of the secondary is too much for ND's receivers, as far as UofM's O, its all up to henne and hart, the line is great, you have a good receiver and TE, so if hart can get off some good runs itll free up henne to make some good passes, as long as he stays away from that #9, i cant spell his name so im not going to try, but that kid is one hell of a player

Alright you Michigan fans ( Arch, Pinche ) do you remember the old Michigan play by play announcer on the radio ( WJR I think ) Bob Ufer? Was he the greatest or what? The way he'd lose it and the love he had for Michigan was really something. He bled blue. Back when I used to live in A/A my roommate used to play old records of him over and over on Saturdays before we went to THE BIG HOUSE.

Arch what position did you play and were you recruited by Syracuse?

Arch what position did you play and were you recruited by Syracuse?

i was a free sfety, but i was a prop 48 :-\ my high school academics werent up to par for D1 so i had to sit out a year, iwas in the same freshman class as woodson and brady, but i got into a little trouble in detroit and NCAA made me leave D1 for a year, so i dropped to D2 a little school in PA called mansfield, i played there for 2 years and was going to try to get me eligability put back in place for D1 but i was severly injured :-\ my spotter slipped on the bar behind the bench and fell forward so i had 310# plus his weight come down on me and i severly shattered my shoulder and cracked a few ribs, luckily just cracked, it couldve been alot worse :-\ so my college days were done, after rehab i was offered to go into the europe leagues but had 2 kids and a wife and decided not to, now i just play in my annual high school alumni game

no, i was not recruited by syracuse, they looked at me by=ut didnt persue? not sure if they already had a good punt returner/safety back then or not ??? the big name schools were obviously the local buffalo area schools, penn state, west virginia, virginia tech, and a few other decent big D1 schools, but those are the best, i was highly recruited by penn state, as is most people in this area, plus my cousin is shane conlan and he was trying to get me to go

4.2 40 and 4:11 mile with a 36" verticle, but those days are long gone  i am probably around a 6 minute mile and 4.8 40 and 2" verticle, lol no about a 29"-30" i can still dunk a basketball, well on good days  i was 5'10 back then and 185-190# still the same height but 200# and not in the same places as 10 years ago ;)

too good for henne? are you serious? plus even if they had a good secondary, all they need is a big "hart"
and on top of that quinn aint doing nothing, he is going to become quickly aquainted with prescott burgess and co.

i figured i would bring this up for all to read again ;) quinn sucks, if you look at all his passes they are always behind the receivers or making them dive, if it wasnt for his receivers he would have no completion percentage, they are truly good players, plus that #9 on ND's D is awesome (im not trying to spell his name  ) and for all the armchair QB's that pick whos winning based on what vegas says :rotflol: i hope you didnt put down money on a game you watch every week but never played :w00t: any true blue fan seen this coming, actually any sports fan seen it, if you watched last years game ND just squeaked by UM, why? hart got hurt early, well guess what, hart was healthy today and freed up henne to pass when he wanted to and hand off to hart for how ever many yards he felt like running for  and is it just me or did someone mention prescott burgess in another post? oh yeah, i did ;D

i only see two problems in UM's schedule this year, iowa and ohio state, WI, they will blow through, didnt realize MN still had a team  MI and penn state are nothing to worry about, then iowa :-\ and a three game warm up crap team spree to ohio state, if they get by iowa, im smelling a national championship, carrs job depends on it, they will beat ohio state or we will see a new coach next year

really ??? i did, ND just barely won lats year, and this year Michigan was healthy and more experienced, i honestly didn't think ND would score but a couple field goals? i don't like Quinn, and Michigan's Dbacks are faster and stronger than ND's receivers and Michigan has the 2 best D ends (as a tandem) in college, any team that is mostly passing is done against Michigan, maybe Ohio state will get some passes off, but Michigan can cheat safety's to double team

Michigan 47  Notre Dame 21   :o :o   Way to go Arch!! I didn't think the Wolves would hammer them like that, especially in South Bend. Michigan hasn't won a big game in a while. Good for them!! Oh and Arch, I don't think you have to worry about Iowa, after all Syracuse almost beat them.

i always worry about iowa, they are one of those upset teams, even when they are bad, they seem to come up big in big games :-\ sometimes they flop, other times they take over ???

im not too woriied about ohio state :-\ maybe its wishful thinking ??? but michigan is a year older and better, its the last game of the year, and saywhat you want about carr, if he looses to ohio state, he may be needing to visit monster.com

wow, a good slam on charlie  the UM defensive cord. said that he doesnt understand why people think weiss is a genius, he has the same offensive attack as always and its easy to decipher, it only took him a week to go through the films and pick apart his style and come up with a D to stop quinn :o a pretty ballsy statement coming from a first year defensive cord. ??? but man, if this guy is this good now, i can see him and michigan going places

i didnt watch it either :'( i was down at my old house cleaning everything and painting all day, its not on the radio around here and the cable was turned off at my old house :-\ but amn when i got home and turned the TV on and seen the scores ;D i got a big smile

why couldnt UM handle ohio state ??? i really dont understand the rankings? i mean state beats a crappy texas, but because they were number 2 week 2 everyone is oooh, aaah ??? who else have they played? penn state held them to 0 points at half, and UM has alot better D and a more experienced O then penn state, heck if penn state's O doesnt screw up, and get the team in the dumps, who knows :-\ hell UM has played more quality teams and put up more points that ohio state, and all people talk about is ohio states offense ??? all people talk about is smith and ginn, smith is a good QB no doubt, but ginn isnt even the best WR on the team ??? bassically, ohio state has no running game, and UM has the best pass rush ends in NCAA, so smith isnt going to pass with ease, and with UM's Dbacks faster than ginn and gonzales, and the Dline not having to worry much about a running back, and can concentrate on smith running, ohio state isnt even a worry to me

Title: Re: Michigan vs Notre Dame
Post by: archbishop on Sep 25, 2006, 08:55 AM
its not cocky ;) in confidence  im not saying UM is going to stomp a mudhole in ohio state, just that they arent as good as people give them credit for, troy smith, yes, he is a tremendous athlete, and that team is probably a top ten team, but if you put the two teams side by side, UM has the advantage, they play the game for a reason, but its not one im concerned about :-\

I always thought they should wait until four weeks of the season have gone by to put out the first poll.

yeah, but it does do good for some teams, texas may not be that good this year, but it is a good moral boost for a good team that is ranked low to beat a bad team that is ranked high :-\
