This doesn't have anything to do with fishing. Don't answer if you don't want to!! One of the nice features of MFF is that you can remain completely anonymous if you want.
I have been reading posts about folks asking for outboard engine advice and I just got curious as to what everyone does for a living...what is your area of expertise?!
We know a lot about each other, and yet very little. I thought it would be fun to know the variety of things MFF members do for a living.
It kind of goes along with the "show what you look like" thread and the "how much education" and "how old" threads from Ice Shanty.
Please don't give away any information that will personally identify you or advertise your place of business. I don't care WHERE you work. I just want to know WHAT you do in broad terms!
(Scott if you don't think this is appropriate, yank it!! ;D)

Liar, I don't believe you on this post one bit! ;D You'll never get anyone to believe you on anything, you know that, right? Just kidding...
TFB, good for you dude. Keep up the good work and stay #1. Based on what you've told me about your baseball career and your educational background added here, you've got a bright future to back up your enthusiasm in fishing. P.S., use more spinnerbaits! ;D (I'm kidding) Thought you might be interested, check out my PA rivers post on the Juniata - you'd be proud to know that I caught 100% of my fish in Super Flukes and didn't get one single hit on a spinnerbait! Maybe our fish are getting smarter, eh? By the way, great topic!
Me? I'm a former accountant in the Federal Government and was in accounting for 15 years. The past 5 years I've been a civil servant in the Fed as a Budget Analyst for the National Institutes of Health, National Cancer Institute. Plus, I'd like to continue seeing y'all on these forums for a lot more years ;)

I have spent the last 10 years of my life helping people manage the risks they face. If you need to get insurance for your car, boat, house, life, snowmobile, atv, or just about anything else like a retirement plan or college savings plan, I'm the guy. My nickname is the "insurance doctor". If you crash your car or your house burns down you'll call me and I'll kindly tell you, you're SCREWED. ;D Just kidding, as long as paid your last insurance bill on time you'll be fine. Just please don't call before 9am or after 5:30pm. ;D

SB, I worked in the insurance business for a year while between jobs and there is good money in it but it is not easy. Listening to everyones problems and disasters can make for a glum day. Keep you chin up and make sure to get some R&R after work combined with some walleye therapy. ;D
I work for "BLANK" Food Safety so can you guess what I do? ;D Basically we test for pathogens in food and food related items, general micro for production facilities, drug testing, chemistry etc. Ensuring alot of what you eat and drink is safe. ;D

I'm a senior at my high school, about to begin my final year. Next year I will be attending either the State University of New York (SUNY) at Cobleskill or Paul Smith's College, where I will be majoring in Fisheries and Wildlife Technologies, where I will become a fisheries biologist. I am doing an exciting program this year called New Visions, which I will elaborate on in the off topic forum.

Be very careful attending those two schools - there are distractions. I'm an EET '90 from PSC. Alaskan Dreams is my cuz, and is at Cobleskill right now for fisheries/aquaculture. Somehow I walked out of PSC with a 3.06, which is amazing considering how much time I spent fishing - and that was before I discovered the joys of hardwater.
Of course, I am currently doing absolutely nothing relating to my degree. After SUNY Brockport, I was a quality control line tech for a food packer that makes tomato sauces and salsas. After 3 years on third shift, I switched to a nice salaried M-F job working as a quality analyst for a medical device manufacturer.
-
I am retired now but for 40+ years I owned and ran my beauty salon and suntanning studio in uptown Minneapolis. I remember meeting Chip Leer and his lovely wife when they came in to use my tanning beds at The Neon Beach. Very nice people.

Well after five years as a financial planner and having the idea one day to return back to college and finish an Environmental Science/Law and Policy degree I acted on that idea. Now with loans piling up I have to return to the drugery of financial planning to pay off some loans and then finish the BS when time allows...kinda disappointing, but I can carry one hell of a conversation with those that think all I do is crunch numbers and look at charts.
So I guess I'm a Financial Planner/ wanna be Policy/Law maker for the DEQ/DNR...yeah, the guys people on here second guess all the time.... :clapping: :rotflol:
