I used a ram mount to secure while running , ball mount on the gunnel and 1 on the motor shaft , similar set up with the back troller
Now ram makes  trolling motor stabilizers

I used Ram Mount too.
I used a Tough Claw they make on the end that attaches to the motor shaft so I didn't have to permanently mount a ball on the shaft, losing shaft length.
Also, I was able to go to the Ram website and get the part numbers I needed.
Believe it or not, buying the parts separately on Amazon was the cheapest route.

Mac those are nice set ups , they didn’t have those when I got my terova , but I have a 60” shaft losing a couple inches didn’t hurt , but I should break down and up grade on the bow mount

Yea, a couple/few inches is typically not an issue.
I have a 60" shaft too.

But I use the thing in Erie and it is generally rough so keeping the prop in the water requires every inch sometimes.
