Fourteen pound mac off the upper boat dock at Fremont in mid May, closed the deal with a six-inch sucker minnow and a 5.0 steel hook.  ;D

Don't have a picture of it, but I would call my 4 lb brown out of the Green River my best fish. I've caught a few macs that have been a little bigger, but that was just a big, GR fish!

Nice brownie, you ever fish the Green just below the dam at the campground? I wonder if you can drive down there yet.  ;D

I only have twice in my life and I never caught anything. Then again I was quite a bit smaller and don't remember how I fished it or anything like that. I try to make about a trip a week to the green to fish in the summer. I've got my little honey holes and wish I knew how to fly fish better. I think it would be more productive then throwin' a spoon. But it still does farely well and I love fishin' the river. I go fish off the shore at the Gorge when I feel like layin' back and not workin' as hard...LOL.

Off the dam or anywhere near it a green or tan 1/4 ounce jig tipped with sucker meat strip is deadly! ;D

Sounds good! May have to try that once the ice is gone. I read articles all the time about people bouncin jigs for big bows and browns and I've just never given it much of a try. Just like staying with what I know works I guess.

You might try it off the dam face at ice out, especially if you have about twenty-thirty ft open water between you and the ice, pitch it over, give it an 8-count drop, then start jigging hard and reeling slow, you'll just have to be aware of how close it's falling to the rocks, so good at iceout even HIMO could catch one there  ;D :rotflol: :thumbup_smilie: (C'mon Don, jump in here and post a big fish picture!)

Lt, I think the road to the campground is still plugged. We STILL have a ton of hard (did I say hard?) snow. I'll drive by there tommorrw and report. That is a hoot in a float tube this time of year(below the dam). I haven't done that for along time. Maybe run out and do that...
My dad loved ice off time. He would do what you do w/ your jig, only he swore by a red and white dare devil. Killer times.  ;)

That's a nice fish LT, I hope I can hook into one like that this spring! I used to cast spoons and suckermeat off that dock all the time.
fishin' hard with worms, powerbait, and marshmallows...  and i don't snag fish, 'cause it's illeegle.
