big bait +big perch

While fishing pickerel last weeknd and this weeknd in a tournament i found a killer bait for big perch, 3-4inch golden shiners rigged with a float and no weight. Both weeknds while fishing the shallow weed beds for pickerel we couldnt keep the perch of the shiners, smallest we were catching was 10 inches but must were 12. Give it a try

I catch them on shiners like that quite a bit through the ice but never tried during the softwater.  They will hit big baits though for sure.  I've caught them on 3/8 ounce bass spinner baits a few times and see them following them in all the time.  good fishin
