This is a question I get asked by alot of people and when I reply "do you mean fly rods, spinning rods, casting rods, trolling rods or ice rods?" they give me this queer look.  And I usually just reply "what??" ;D
The man who coined the phrase "money can't buy happiness" never bought himself a good flyrod.

Pasquatch you can never have to many fishing rods especially here in alaska where the variety of fish dictates many rods i have many fly rods, lure rods and ice rods usually two of each for me and my dad.

Fly rods
2 3 wieghts for grayling, small bows and landlocked silvers

2 5 wieghts for pinks, reds, dollies and medium sized bows

2 8 weights for silvers, big bows, and medium pike

2 9 wieghts for sheefish, chum salmon, small kings and big pike

2 10 wieght for big kings

1 12 weight for halibut, yes you can cathc halibut on a fly rod at the right time of year

Ice rods

4 Medium Heavy for big bows, dollies, char and pike

4 light for lanlocked silvers, grayling and small bows

Lure rods

2  for fish smaller that 6 pounds

2 for fish between 6 and 10

2 for fish between 10 and 25

2 for fish between 25 and 50

2 rods for big kings

2 Rods for halibut

I've never been to heaven, but i have fished  in  Alaska.

Of course you can't have too many, I'm always adding to my collection, but I really don't need that many rods. I wish  I could have as many fly rods as you, although I'm still learning, but I'm still quite young and my job can only buy me so many rods along with everything else I am trying to (or in process of) purchasing....car, boat, car insurance, high maintenance girlfriend... ::)

The ice is not even gone and I have already added 2 more rods to my collection.....I know I may take dome flack for this but I love the new Quantum PT Tounry baitcaster...The thing is incredible. I also picked up a nodle rod and ultralite reel for crappie this spring..nice to have a crappie lake near by

I have lots of rods for many purposes, one thing they all have in common is the shimano reels attached to them
