Lake information
« on: Jan 18, 2023, 03:33 PM »
Can anyone suggest New York lakes for bass fishing/pan fishing, small or even private lakes
with house or cabin rentals on the lake?
I would be bringing my 16' Lund with a 90 honda but would be willing to also go to a trolling
motor lake.  This is for a family vacation end of August early September.  Any suggestions
would be appreciated.

Old forge from the pond to 3rd lake.  A lot of rentals all along there on the water with docks.  And the fishing is great…
And a lot of other things to do and great places to eat.. ;)
 But you better book now…

Black Lake
Oneida Lake
Chautauqua Lake
Silver Lake
Conesus Lake
Honeye Lake

All awesome lakes that have bass, walleye, and panfish.  They also have cottages for rent.

Good luck.

My personal choice would be Keuka Lake. The gem of the finger lakes.
If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

 Oneida lake
Maybe KP will chime in as he fishes all these waters and more

My list is long for bass and walleye… but, here goes…. some have already been named.

Oneida Lake
Otisco Lake
Cross Lake
Sandy Pond
Mexico Bay
Henderson Harbor
Sacketts Harbor
St. Lawrence
Owasco Lake
Black Lake
Lake Champlain, southern end
Onondaga Lake, yes… big bass. Catch and release
Skaneateles Lake
Cranberry Lake
Cayuga Lake
Fair Haven

That’s the best of my list, there’s many more. Some of these lakes hold Bass and walleye. Some have numbers of fish. We fish mostly for big bass. Western NY lakes are on my bucket list… never fished them. Check out the NYS DEC website for the lakes and species of the lakes. Very detailed info there. Hope this helps you out!! I hope you and your family have a great time!!😎
