Going out tomorrow morning to a small lake near here.  I don't usually do so well in lakes though - I'm mostly a stream guy.  I can't figure out why my line doesn't drift in a lake???????? ???

I'll fill everyone in on my results later.

I'm getting ready to go catch sunfish to use for channel cat bait tonight.  I can usually catch 20 or so in an hour using worms off a dock. Going to catfish a small creek with a couple of buddys tonight.

One of my buddy's dad had to go to the hospital last night so we didn't go fishing.

I did about the same. It's a good thing I enjoy the total fishing experience or after this weeks luck I'd give it up. Right now the Leopard frogs are morphing from there aquatic life to there terrestrial life, on the river they are every where, last night I caught a bunch of them. I'm thinking the fish are eatting them so they are probably the best bait to use. I'll find out tonight.

DW,

When you use those sunfish, do you cut them or just stick 'em on a hook?

I'm looking at doing a night for sturgeon, and know there are lots of big cats in the area.

I'll be using gill's though.
Rockbass - not just another pretty fish!
Got nymph?         I do!

SC,

It depends on what I'm after. I use Sunfish alive when I'm fishing for flatheads I cut them into 2" wide pieces when I'm fishing for Channel cats and Blue cats. I've never fished for Sturgeon. Frogs I mostly hook through the lips and slit there belly's.
