In the Jungle
« on: May 07, 2024, 07:43 PM »
I fished "the Jungle" section of the South Hoosic in Cheshire for about an hour and a half after dinner this evening, from about 6:30 PM to a littlie after 7:30 PM.

It was mostly sunny and about 67 degrees, and the water levels were near ideal.

I ended up catching one 9" brookie and two (one 13" and one 15") browns.

Unfortunately, the brookie and larger brown ended up wrapping the line around sunken branches and getting injured when I retrieved them, so there wasn't much point in releasing them.

Since you cannot feed a family of six (i.e., me, my wife, and four kids) with just two fish, and they tend to lose their flavor fairly quickly if you freeze them, I gave the two trout to a buddy of mine.
