The reason the 15” was put into place was to take the pressure off the prime spawners
And it has worked nicely,
Oneida isnt designed to be a trophy fishery
It’s a nice little cash cow
Oneida brings in between 15-20 million a year last I read

If anyone is looking for 10+ # eyes they are only an hour north of Oneida
Personally I release my over 20” fish back anyway unless badly hooked or if I was in a tourney
We all have our opinions and thats fine by me , always nice to hear different views

I'd like to see the Dec change the size back to 18" if they are going to allow it to be 5 fish again

I also put in my opinion to leave it alone. Let’s let a few years pass and see what happens. Oneida is an eatery lake for me. I live near Ontario and love Ontario’s eyes as well like already said if you want trophies they are far away.

trophy on Oneida has always been about the same in the mid to upper 20's far as I've ever seen. My best is 27" and only have done that a few times. The 15's I've been catching taste great but not much to them. Bump to 18" and they still taste great but just a little more to them.
If it stays 3 fish at 15" and over I'm fishing the same so really doesn't matter to me. I shake a bunch of 15's off looking for just a hair bigger enough to not matter.
Be out tomorrow around noon

Well i remember when they went to 12in and 5 that screwed up the lake i liked 18 and 3 there where def bigger fish after a couple of years of 18in,,, I heard they are concerned about perch numbers decline with so many eyes so maybe put 25 limit on perch, but instead of a angler survey shouldnt they listen to Cornell and science
