I haven't seen it personally, but according to posts on iceshanty.com, the shoreline is starting to open up and the ice is beginning to get unsafe. It could be another couple weeks for the lake to clear out totally. I was on Arnold Lake nearby today and it was locked up for the most part. There were a couple spots near shore and near the outlet that were open but that's it. Not enough to fish for sure.

I went to the boat launch yesterday, I saw 2-3 people out south-east of the launch, NUTS!!! I walked out a little ways...too ifffy for me, lol...getting old I guess(or smarter) lol. Ended up with a wet foot coming back off. Shoreline is getting bad, and a lot of flooding going on around the camps. I tried to drive down to the mouth of the Hyder but it is flooded terribly and I didn't trust the old escort in too much water. I'd say that the ice will be there for another 10 days--2 weeks depending on the weather. I'll be watching it closely throughout the week and will keep ya all posted.

Took a ride around Canadarago today...boat launch is still locked up tight. Managed to get to the mouth of the Hyder, water is still a little high but fishable. The water level of the lake has decreased to a more normal level.(not all up and in the camps) Also checked the north end which is opening up more each day...maybe thawed out about 200ft or so. Tried at the small bridge on moyer rd (dump rd)..no luck.....several brown trout have been caught from the school creek...but that is normal ;D
