jon boat question.

i'm getting a 10 ft jon boat and thinking about just getting a trolling motor to put on it. but don't know if it will work good enough?
if anyone uses just a trolling motor please tell me how it works?

A trolling motor will work great.  I had a 12ft with a 34lb.  Could troll easily with it.

I push around my 12' deep vee with a 30# trolling motor.   It ain't a speed demon but it works.

30 lb should work fine , just remember that in most states if it powered by ANY motor you have to put numbers on it and you still have to have the required equipment just like a regular full size boat !

You must register and carry all appropriate safety gear.

i have a minn kota 40# thrust with a maximiser. plenty of power, and you can troll all day with one battery. none better at saving your battery.
