Wader repair
« on: May 01, 2009, 07:28 PM »
Not sure if this is the right place for this question but: I was walking back to the Jeep after trout fishing and put a 1/8" to 1/4" inch hole in my waders. It is on the front shin area. What are your suggestions to fixing this???

TIA

Depends on type of wader: neoprene is different from the old rubber waders which is different that the "slicky" waders. I repaired my son's waders this year with a patch kit from - I think - from Bass Pro Shops. I am sure you can get them other places. It consisted of a patch and some glue. Very easy and it worked. For neoprene waders get the neoprene "glue" to seal the hole. (Unfortunately I have had to use that on my own waders.)

If they are rubber then a bicycle patch ket should work just fine. I have known people that have that style of wader and have more patches than wader! (One guy I know buys them just for that reason - easy repair. He can afford much more expensive waders but always buys the rubber waders.)

buy Orvis waders and they'll fix it or give you a new pair next time...

Amazing goop works great with the rubber kind. I just fixed a small hole in mine the other day.
