Let's get an idea where you live and fish today. Please, only reply below if you vote "other", in which you would specify where. Please, everyone vote!
I had to modify this to read where do you live instead of where are you from...I'm trying to get an idea where most of our members fish most of the time, not where we were born...
..duh... :-X

Also from Manitoba Canada. Minnedosa if you want to be specific. manitoba is such a beautiful province that makes you wonder why you would want to live anywhere else. ;) ;) ;)

Lac La Biche, in northeastern Alberta, Heart of the Lakeland. A plethora of clean, clear, fish laden lakes in the area.
-

Midwest born and generally proud of it, but I am an AMERICAN first and foremost and I am very proud of that.

Another Manitoban - incredible place to live. I hunt out my back door and fish (hard and soft water) within a half hour. I can catch trophy cats and walleye - and just got back from ICE FISHING (yeh, April 16th) - caught some small splake (cross between lake trout and speckles) and some small rainbows...18 inches of ice but getting a bit shaky. Nobody else on the lake...I wondered why the turkey vultures were circling. They don't call this the Great White North for nothin'.
-
I hear ya Manitoban. Here in BC I fish 2 minutes from here and shoot all kinds of big game animals out my bedroom window. Nearest neighbour a mile away. I too am still on ice on my high altitute lake. Was out 2 days ago and caught some nice rainbows 15-22 inches. They sure taste good smoked. I wish I lived closer than the 45 minutes to my salmon fishing river. Did land a king/chinook salmon last year that weighed 43 lbs.
-
i live in wolcott,ny which is in the golden cresent area of lake ontario which is in ny state and has some ,if not the best year round fishing in the usa.

Southwest michigan, I fish for walleye where Ican and panfish mostly in and around southwest mich.
-
Grand Junction, Colorado. I fish mostly in Colorado, but have fished all over the West.
-
I envy you Mack. That is some fine country out there! I was born in Denver and spent a couple summers in the Denver area years ago when I was in college. Loved every minute of it. I played my summer baseball there because the competition was so good. We played a team in your neck of the woods, the Grand Junction Eagles (a few of my buddies played for them) and I loved it when we made that road trip out there! I always wanted to wet a line but between work and baseball, didn't have a lot of time.
-
I live in Western Long Island, NY. Spend most of my summer time in the ocean waters because fresh water fishing is kind of scarce around here. There are a couple of popular fresh water areas, but they are far from my home, and the ocean is right around the corner.
But.....when Winter comes.....there is no distance too far for me to travel to stand on the hard water and drill my holes!!! Fish mostly in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties in the BEST ICE FISHING WATERS IN NY STATE.....the NYC Reservoir system. There is no equal!

Alright Buckshot47! We've got some additional SE representation on here! Otter and I will be adding lakes to the South real soon for posting fishing reports. He's going to start with Mississippi and Alabama. I'll take a crack at Georgia unless, of course, you'd like to give it a try. If so, check out the Maryland Lakes and Rivers sections for an example. The first post is for general info, history, and fishing info, after that, people post fishing reports. The idea is to have one thread per lake, much easier to find info on a lake rather than read 50 threads on the same subject.

Fat Boy, you better do the lakes it's been a long time since I've fished any of them. I only live a few miles from lake lanier but the only time I go there is to trout fish below the dam even thats too crowded. If you ever want to do any fly fishing though give me a holler I can help you there, only thing I'm more addicted to is bow hunting.

Winnipeg, Manitoba. Mostly I fish locally or within 2 hrs of the city, in the rivers and nearby lakes. L. Manitoba for perch in winter. I make a couple of trips a year to northern MB for family visits, and try to fish there too. About every three years we head to Vancouver Island, BC, where cousins take me salmon and ling cod fishing. Over the years I've gathered a collection of salt water spinning and mooching rods, and have always wondered if the flashers, hoochies, cut bait harnesses and spinners might be good for lake trout too. Only one way to find out, I guess.
-

I fish the Klamath river and Iron Gate resevoir ,Hope to get to the coast for some action this fall. Castle lake near Mt. Shasta for the ongoing quest for hardwater ! I live in two places , my workplace M-F at the Klamath ranch resort. Weekends are at our cabin in Horse Creek about 40 miles downriver. Northern california I mean northern too were 5 hours north of San Fransico. 7 miles south from the Oregon border . This area (northern Cal. and southern Or. )succeded from the nation in the forties before ww2 because of misrepresentation by officials and called this area the State of Jefferson. The pioneer spirit is still alive and well here ! If you like trout fishing this area is awsome Klamath,Rouge,Umpqua, Trinity , Scott , Sacramento rivers and many of the resevoirs
hold lunker green carp but my favorite are the crappie ,gills, and the perch that are readily availible without much fishing pressure .
