hey everyone,
my family and myself will be camping at first landing state park last week in august. we were planning on fishing of the piers nearby and along va beach. thing is, we've never fished saltwater, ever. so i have some questions.
-can i use regular rod/reel and just wash it down with freshwater after? or will it still reck the reel? if so, what should i look for in a basic saltwater pier-fishing outfit?
-what do i use as bait/lures?
-what might i catch?
-any pier in particular anybody knows are better then others?
-are there other places, excluding piers, in the area i could fish?
as i said, i have extremely little saltwater experience, but a great deal of freshwater. any tips you could give would be great
