hey thats the way pops tought me to filet fish when I was a kid.  On bigger fish I can take meat off the back of the ribs but on the smaller fish its tough and barely worth it.

I disagree With practice you can get alot more meat per fillet mind you it is more time  consuming. Dont take offense to my critisism. ;)

here are some pics from last week.

my good buddy with some small pike on sandy



this is the biggest rock bass i have ever seen. 11.5" ; 1.5 lbs



next day on ninemile.  we must have been just behind the stocking truck.  we caught at least 50 browns between the two of us.  the smallest being 12" and the largest being 20"(no pic of him  :'().  here are a few pics though.
