So ....my faithful old hummingbird 200 DX finally crapped out. I need a replacement. I have a small boat, fish small waters and don't need bells and whistles. I want to know bottom.....speed and water temperature.
I'm looking at the Lowrance hook2 4x. My question is, does it show boat speed or speed over bottom via GPS or speed at all?
I've searched and searched and can't find an answer.
Thanks in advance,
Rg

I have the first Hook4 - not the 2, but it does display boat speed

Thanks for the response. How does it read speed. Does it have a separate sensor form the transducer?

I appreciate that bigguy. I've done some preliminary research and the Lowrance is what I'm interested in.

I have the hook 4 di with GPS on my kayak works well. No separate transducer for speed. It uses gps.

In the reviews section at basspro.com they answer speed over ground (gps) Not a bad price at 119

Thanks for the info. I figured that was how it worked. I'll probably buy the sonar only model and a speedometer. More accurate that way.
