Nice to see that the walleye are active in the river and in Lake Erie this early. There were a lot caught out in the lake while perch fishing. This is a nice bonus catch. Got 4 yesterday out perch fishing. They are perfect eating size. Can someone tell me how old, roughly a 16 - 17 inch walleye is?? This year class is strong in the lake now.

Gotta say I haven't had a bad walleye. Even out of the Genny. But like Trapper said it's all about size in my opinion. 24" is a good cut off point I think. I have heard rumors that the ones out of Conesus taste like bunk because of their strict alewife diet. (Also the culprit responsible for the difficulty to catch them)
