Once again that is a Terrova, not an Ulterra. The Ulterra is a different motor with self stow and deploy.

This is what the link has listed. Does it not have the Terrova listed, maybe it's just me.

Terrova bud, not Ulterra. There is no 87" Ulterra.

Terrova, not Ulterra. I have yet to hear of an 87" Ulterra.

Correct - my mistake - sorry

I'm sorry, I couldn't stop, and I should have. Blame my OCD.

It's all good.
BTW, I started it saying it was an Ultera.
And to be perfectly honest, I meant to say RIPTIDE.......because it's a salt water unit.
So I really goofed!

OK, back to the topic at hand.

Anyone out there have a 60" or 72" Terova that can measure it and give me the dimension in my photo please?

Thanks.
Mac

When I get home today I'll measure my 72" 36V terrova on my 211 Key West.

We have had no issues with my friends 60" 24V Ulterra this spring but did a few times last summer and we are wondering if heat may have an effect on the belt. Not much sun yet so yet to be determined.

Both require hitting the power button on the unit which i don't get. I liked my riptide with power button on the fob. I don't care for the giant fob either. It's heavy on the neck lanyard. It does get my boat going over 4mph though. and spot lock is awesome

Hey Jethro - didn't you install one of these?

Anyway, I'm looking for the distance indicated in my attached pic.
With the head lowered all the way.

I'm looking at the 72" unit but if you only have a 60" and can offer that measurement thanks.
I'm really asking about the Ultera but if you have a Terova and can offer that measurement please do.

Lastly, anyone out there with an Ultera - I have heard horror stories about the auto deploy and auto store.
We all have.
But I really have not heard much in the past 2-3 years.
I'm wondering if they fixed the issues and it's now reliable.
Anyone have any experience here???

I'm wanting to add one of these to my 21' Trophy WA cuddy.
I first want to make sure the 72" will be long enough and not keep popping out of the water in 1-2' seas.
2nd, I really want the Ultera with the auto deploy and store feature.
I'm not getting any younger and would rather not go forward to deploy it.
But if the thing still isn't reliable I will go with the Terova and suffer going forward.

Thanks for any and all info you guys can offer.

Mac
12” from base of head to the bottom of mounting plate and 60” from bottom of mounting plate to top of motor/prop unit.

Yea, only one additional inch.

Ask a girl if she would like one more inch.

I guess an inch is an inch.

Thanks guys.
Much appreciated.

Well if I could get another inch I wouldn't say no, and I don't think the girlfriend would either...

Told ya!

 8)

I really really really want the auto deploy feature of the Ultera.

But I really really really really don't want it to crap out on me and leave me hanging for a month or more while it gets repaired.

The 1" isn't 6" more, but it is still more, not less.

I'm putting it on the new (used) Trophy.

With the height of that bow, the darn thing will be needing as many inches as I can get.
The 87" Riptide Terova would do the job, but it's $1000 more than the 72" standard Terova because of the extras that come with it and also the iLink iPilot it has.
I don't need or want iLink.

I will be picking up the boat in a week or two and will need to do some serious measuring and soul searching.

Again, thanks for the help guys.
Mac
