« on: Mar 14, 2020, 12:04 PM »
Fished Thursday 3/12/20 9-3pm. Water 38.5 degrees light chop mainly north northwest. No docks in yet. Ice free bay. Caught 20 small perch only one keeper. Had aquavue down spotted scattered pods of perch occasionally. Real slow, best depth 20-25 feet. Had niagaras and Berkeley mousies. Fished 8 different locations including channel markers, only one here. Will give it another go this coming week.

Try the shallows.
Two reasons.
Warmer water and they are getting ready to spawn.
Thanks for the excellent report and good luck next time out.

I fish the shallows all winter long. Not on irondequoit but always in 16Fow or Less. I usually have more fish then anyone else that is out. Mostly larger fish as well.

I believe I talked to you at the channel markers.  Nothing for us Thursday.  I did fish all my spots both shallow and deep.  They were not north of the bridge for sure.

Fished Irondequoit again 4/25. Water was only up 2 degrees 41.5. Took home 16 keepers, not huge 8-10 inchers. Caught about 25 throwbacks. Sometimes they wanted minnows other times perch eyes. One dock was put in this day. Bridge closes or opens 4/1. All fish north of 104 bridge. Channel markers, coves, 10-25 feet. Fish still holding eggs, lots around I could see on Aqua Vu. I had no waxies, worms or mousies. Should give those a try next time. Good luck everyone. Tried Oak Orchard creek out of Point Breeze Friday. No docks in, State Launch closed, Town launch on east side open, no docks. Both launches at the Bridges still closed. Drifted and anchored down in a lot of different places. Only caught one jumbo and half dozen runts. Water here was 44.5 degrees.
