Not sure how to respond to this type of comment without lowering myself to your level.

Would it be better if I said. "That hill keeps the un-energetic littering folks away"?  ;D

Got the boat out yesterday for the first trip of the year - nothing broke and the motor started so I guess I should be happy for the first trip of the year.  I was only able to put one eye in the boat in about 4 hours, not what I was hoping for but good to get out. Still some huge ice sheets floating around so I wasn't able to get out on the main lake - I was gonna try to clean out your spots KP but couldn't make it to them.

Sounds like a successful trip to me Slammy. I saw some of those big sheets of ice from shore. Hopefully they will be gone soon!

I was surprised how cold the water coming down fish creek was - 36 to 37. I expected it to be a little warmer, thought it would be getting toward 40 something with the record heat, guess it takes more to heat up that tug hill ice water.  Bet that wind smoked those ice sheets last night.

Just thinking... why do we hear a lot about water temp from ice out to freeze up yet never mentioned during ice season ?  Might be missing something .  Water temp where bottom meets a given depth ??   Maybe I'm getting to technical .?

Last I read there was still 22 inches snow pack on Tug Hill.  The temp won't be going up much in the next few days.  Oh well, spring has always come...

An ice-covered body of water is between 4deg. C (bottom, density is at it's greatest) and 0 deg. C (top ice surface).  Save for springs and gas holes, etc.  That's what I read, anyways.
