Launched at south shore launch at 10 am yesterday. Headed east near Lewis Pt. Marked plenty of fish but they were not interested in biting. Tried a variety of things. Went to the shoals later in day. Not a lot happening there either. Ended up with 2 yellow perch, 2 white, lost a big smallmouth after a good fight. No walleye. Nice day to be out on the water though. Was thinking about hitting north shore but maybe next time.

Made it out to the east end yesterday. Too late to really target eyes so we decided to target yellows. Had a great day with 41 in the cooler. Only a few that I consider true Oneida jumbos but the remainder were pretty nice, solid fish. I know it sounds a little crazy, but some of the males we caught were not spawned out. Never saw this before so late in the year; maybe it's related to the weather we had had this spring. Tried slip bobber fishing for sunnies and bluegills with ice jigs tipped with a small piece of worm last week but the gobies drove me nuts. Not one sunfish or bluegill in an area that generally produces some nice fish. Maybe they are not on their spawning beds yet ? Water was too rough to be able to see any beds.

Boggey nice to see you got some nice perch.

First time out this year.  Got 3 in 90 minutes Wednesday dragging worms  - 12-15 FOW, 7:00-8:30am.  21, 20, 17 inches.  Multiple perch, no keepers.  I'll figure out how to post pics but these eyes were FAT compared to years past.  Tight lines.

Nice job guys on the perch and eyes. Good to see your success. I should have switched to perch. Lesson learned.

Nice job on the fish! Hope to give it a go tomorrow. Don't think I can get my buds up as early as you PP. We always seem to stroll in after sunup.

Yes it's nice to be a passenger! My friend is doing the towing, but I get to be the captain. Had a boat color change F&R, now the other bee color. Well the weather looks promising!  Good luck to all the weekend warriors!  8)

Anyone know what time East Shore Bait & Tackle opens? Or for that matter Apps? I assume you can dock near Apps? Thanks!

You can pull right into Apps Marina and dock if you want to get to the shop from the water.

I just talked to peg at APPs she said she would prefer if you tied off on the first dock coming in on the left , reason there are a couple that need work , hrs 6:00-6:00-6:30
Ben at East shore bait and tackle hours 6:00-8:00

So what are the sheep heads up to this time of year? Haven't caught one yet this year, usually they find me.   :P
