Thats a great couple of evenings chowdaire , , let's us know if there is anything in their stomachs

Didn't keep the ones from the north shore 2 nights ago but last night's south shore fish were empty. Still plump though.

Took gramps out this morning. Fished deep on the south shore. Went 15 of 17 on the waldos and got 13 keeper perch. The two eyes we lost at the boat were keepers. Fish were most active in the 36-37 ft range. Gramps only wanted to take one eye home for dinner. So 5 eyes and 13 perch for supper one nigh this week.

Flew solo this morning (lack of friends I guess)  ;D Anyways, went back to the same spot I've been fishing out in 37 ft. Bright sunshine and flat conditions. Went 16 for 18 with only 1 keeper >:(  Lots of 14" fish. Also got 4 nice perch. Packed up and did a deep pass from 121 to 123 slow trolling worm harnesses. Got 1 more keeper out there. Pretty irritating with all of the shorts. Starting to notice some of them deep fish starting to slowly suspend up the water column. Guess I'll head to Godfrey and finish up what's left of the spinner bite before I get trolling rods together.

Nice job again, Chief.

There are a lot of shorts out deep for sure. The other night before moving shallow I jigged for a few minutes in that 36-40' range and got 2 fish that were just barely keepers and a few shorts and dinks. Glad I didn't keep them because the shallow fish were solid. All 17-20" and filled out.

That deep water is setting up nice for trolling though. Lots of good marks up 5-15' off the bottom. I'm tempted to give it a try soon.

Yes it is. I will wait a week or two before I give it a shot. Just out of curiosity are you fishing weeds?

Yep. I'm usually targeting weeds. Only 2 really consistent summertime bites I know, the deep basin troll and weeds.
