For Oneida Lake wind take the forecast, double it and add 7 . It will be very close.

Same question would go for the opening day of trout.. why be in a hurry to fight the crowd? The answer is really quite easy..
When you are passionate about fishing and your targeted species, you simply cannot wait another dang second to chase them.. It's like being addicted to a drug and you just can't wait for your next fix!!!!!!!!
Good luck to all you fellow eye hunters!!!!!
I'm getting my fix in the afternoon

Getting older will have that effect on you.  Believe me I have experience in these matters!

It is not that big of a deal for me any more but it is still fun to get out and try to find them.

I have missed a few walleye openers (including this one) but I have never missed opening day of southern zone deer season since I was 11 years old!

We definitely have our priorities.

Good luck guys.

For some, fishing is not about catchin, it is the good times and friends they hang out with. There also is the annual tournament for the more competitive ones. I hope the turnout is good for that.
