Wow, some great reads here. Thank you reeleys.  Yes they can be stubborn if confronted. They also get frustrated and start spewing out garbage.  Fisheries science sometimes has tunnel vision. God forbid you confront them with an alternative.
And in an additional note. I have a brand new carb for a 15 hp evinrude sitting around. I think it’s good from 77-84.
