gave the steelhead a break today and fished for rainbows and brown trout on one of the more popular lake ontario streams  WHAT A GREAT DAY OF FISHING    caught a bunch of rainbows and browns-  all fair caught  ------ NO SNAGGING OR LIFTING FOR US ,although we saw some dirtballs keeping foul hooked fish-- we dont even take pics of the fouled fish like some guys we saw 
       the kid was on his game today landing fish after fish while most grown men were going fishless

   got out on the creek for a little while today-had to fish alone today being a school day. had a pretty good day(14 fish landed)-caught some rainbows coho's and browns and kept a limit of browns for the eggs- i figure i release 100's of trout so keeping a few is o.k i guess.

  heres a few from todays catch

               a few casts later hooked up with this chunky brown

        got another one      a dark colored up male rainbow

             fish on    a smaller feisty brown

            caught a couple coho's too-----heres one of e'm

what a tough day out on the stream today-came close to getting skunked for a while with the drop in water temps and the high murky conditions +all the leave flowing down stream didn't help either    had to realy work for the few fish we landed but ended up getting a real good fish just before we left 
               come to find out on the way home another stream 20 miles down the road was in better shape and some guys were realy getting into a bunch of nice fish--- not us

             all the fish were rainbows except the one smaller brown trout

                 steelhead are just a particular strain of rainbow trout that lives in the ocean or great lakes and migrates up rivers & streams to spawn  then returns to the ocean or lake-

  got out for a while today and fished a nearby stream that we havnt fished in couple years . had a pretty decent day -- caught a bunch of small 16 to 18 jacks(small steelys) some nice average size fish and a few biggens.  the kid thought he had me beat for big fish of the day until i hooked and landed a nice double digit buck

     finaly got a chance to get out fishing for a few hours  after spending the last couple weeks packing /unpacking and moving into our new(used house). most of the streams have been high and muddy with all the rain so we realy didn't miss much anyways.
   had to head up north to one of the dam controlled lake ontario streams,all the other streams were to high and muddy to fish.the fishing wasn't the best with the off color flows and frigid water temps and cold wind  but i managed to land 7 spawned out skinny browns and lost a big steelhead,it was good just to get out there on the water for a while.the kid discovered he had a few leaks in his waders and spent more time trying to stay warm than fishing-he did manage to hook a couple but unfortunately lost e'm both.

             i had high speed cable and had to switch to dial up after moving until my dsl gets hooked up -forgot how slow dial up was and the pictures all look blurry now

Bet the fish in the last photo tired pretty easily, he looks a little thin.  Great photos, super fish and tight lines.
