The Ugly Stick is my first choice for catfish and trolling. It is just right for casting soft baits, and it wont rip the hooks out of a fish's mouth when you are trolling with low stretch line.

my sentiments exactly!!!!! i bought it to steelhead fish with, and find myself using it for everything short of an icefishing or downrigger rod

Agree, i have an 11'-6" Wild River from St. Croix and use it for smaller steelhead water, also bring it with me out on the piers. Lotta bang for the buck.
