I was thinking the exact same thing. I would think that it would stay spot locked until it was told not to. I have seen some odd things with mine though. I was trolling along using the direction heading. Went under a draw bridge and the motor turned 90° and almost tossed me out of the boat. Did it twice under the same bridge.

Ive had the bridge thing happen.  Really wakes a guy up.

I've used my Ulterra remote from at least 500 feet away. Been pretty impressed. But I still don't have the cajones to launch with no rope!
