Yo Eddy,

Tree stand in the AM on Saturday, but going to give it one more effort at Oneida on the East end this morning.  Put the Larson up on blocks 2 weeks ago. Going to take the little 2 man Otter out of MM this morning. If any of you guys see an old man wheezing struggling along with his kayak oars, stop and say hi. Def the last time out on soft water for me this year. Couldn't resist the good temps and low winds.  Spent yesterday @ Henderson. No bite no fish.

Jr says if you guys want to catch walleye.... you'll need to go bassfishing! 🎣 Another day today where he caught walleye on bass gear!  8) shad only in their gut....no gobies!!! Good job buddy!😎

Hello everyone, haven't been on here in a long time. Nice to see that some familiar faces are still on this site. Ventured out on the southeastern end of Oneida today looking for a few perch. Saw something out in the distance but couldn't quite make it out. As we got closer I realized it was some wack job in a kayak !  Nice talking with you Boogey, wish the fishing was a little better - the ones we got were nice ones, just not enough of them. Good luck in the tree stand tomorrow.

KP - nice eyes, forgot what the hell they look like.

Looking forward to seeing everyone on IceShanty (Pman)

Yo KP,

Nice eyes.  I pretty much gave up on them. I gave the perch my last try with the long pole today. Real slow morning. Like HeyNow said. It was slow out there. Had to earn each and everyone of them. I did manage to keep 10 of those nice jumbo's though.  It was a beautiful day to be on the water. As I said , I had to earn them. Did you know it takes about 2,351 strokes on those kayak oars to get out past the weed line from Marion Manor? Yup, like HeyMan said, It takes some kind of whack job to row all the way out there, sit in his 2man, drink coffee, chew on some jerky and fish for perch all day.  :thumbup_smilie: :thumbup_smilie: :thumbup_smilie:

Further good news, it only takes about 10 minutes to clean 10 fish. Done and in the freezer. Doubt if there will be many more days like today this year. As always I got to meet a few new people on the water, basked in the warm afternoon sun and got that exercise my heart doctor has been encouraging me to get. All in all. not a bad day eh?  Hunting in the am . God this retirement is tough stuff ;D ;D

Post Script: Nice meeting you HeyMan. See you on the pond this winter. About 4 weeks away I hope.

Yo boggey,

Glad to hear your still keeping active and after those nasty perch! 😁 The walleye have been elusive when we targeted them. Josh and I have caught quite a few fishing bass tourneys this year. Think I'll put the walleye gear away and just go bass fishing from now on! Lol! See you on the ice bud!😎

Boggey - decided to pass on the last chance for open water adventures this year. Give you a lot of credit for paddling out to the area where we fished yesterday. Kayaks may be easy to paddle but still a long haul from Marion. Speaking of the area we fished yesterday, here is a pic of the 35 we got from the same general area on Monday. Fish were a little more aggressive but not too many really hit hard. As we discussed, braid with mono/fluro leader a big key to light bite detection. Hope to make it up to the pond this winter for some really big jumbos

Hope I didn't mess up the picture sizing.
