They are a blast. I think mine's a Gamo but not positive. I've had it about 4 years now. It shoots at 1000fps and will roll a rabbit at 50 yards. Quiet too so the neighbors don't hear it.   8)

I used to work for  Crosman Corp. and their Benjamin legacy 1000  is an awesome gun. I used to burn the design into the stocks, and they are heavy powerful, and nice. but they are also expensive, but I am not sure how they compare to the gamo... etc.

Spongebob,  I hunt with a RWS Diana .177 with a 3X9 BSA air rifle scope.  It's an inexpensive combo that puts pellets in a incredible grouping!  I shoot a polymer tipped pellet that seems to put any snowshoe hare down quick.  It's just plain fun shooting!  I have taken grey squirrels, feral cats, pigeons, crows,  etc...  If your thinking about getting serious with a air rifle, let me make these suggestion.  Get a break breatch rifle, in real wood, and one that shoots over 1000 fps.  Enjoy!

I have a Crosman "American Classic"  #1377 pistol.
It's a single shot pump and kicks some serious arse.
I have taken squirrels with it, and right now there's a woodchuck next door that I have a personal vendetta against. It really messed up my vegetable garden the other night and I can't wait to see it again...

Polymer tips can be bought through online air rifle specialty sites and, (like BigRed stated), Cabelas.

I have an RWS Diana (not sure of the model) and have popped a couple hundred critters with it. I had scopes and iron sights and am back to the irons, both are extremely accurate and group well if sighted in. It is super quiet and zings the .177s around 1000fps.
