Nice surprise for both of you. I have a muskrat pelt. Can’t remember where I came by it. Maybe KP. Makes great dubbing. The under fur is super soft and the guard hairs are nice and buggy. Used it with coyote and raccoon for the Ausable Uglies. Great fly.

I’ve got to get on the stream this week. It’s been so blasted hot and humid I haven’t gone at all. That and I’ve been working a lot at the golf course….which will be slowing down some ……I hope.

Don't forget the tricos; small but deadly, if you can see them!

I tied a bunch of tricos, but I can’t find them……can’t see them any more to find them…..much less tie one on a line. Someone will get them when I slip these earthly bonds.

Trap, no favorite patterns, since I don't tie I use whatever my buddies give me. A trico with crystal flash is one of my favorites. Also a buddy ties a "tilt winged trico that makes it easier to see on the water. I use 20 and 22; like RG, I  can't manage 24s and smaller but the bigger ones work. This season like last started around July 10 but has been less consistent and less intense than 2020.They are alot of  fun to fish and can be frustrating at times.

I could probably net them by the pound certain days mowing the course. I see thick swarms of them rising on thermals off the swamps.

I'm trying to tie some #20 midges for an upcoming trip but it's brutal working in the micro-world. I even have one of those big magnifiers but with my eyes and hands, I probably need an electron microscope.

I much prefer tying giant foam hoppers.

Thanks, I definitely need some help with the tiny stuff and I refuse to pay 3 dollars for something I can barely see. I'll check it out.

I just wear a pair of 3x cheaters over my bifocals. Have magnifying setups for the bench but don’t like tying behind them. Never could get used to it.
