If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Nymphs!  Last minute stones for steelhead tomorrow!  Havnt really got into tying drys yet.  Hackle is so expensive.

Nymphs eh?

Here's a pattern I've been working on.

It's getting there ;D

May be sooner than you think Larry. If you have any time next week?

I'm still working on them. It's a variation on something I saw. Fun anyway.

I like the colors in the thorax.

you can get a lot of drys out of one neck nytroutslayer...but if you don't want to spend the money on good hackle...you can tie compara-duns..that use deer hair from a whitetails face, for wing material, no hackle needed. Way cheaper than hackle...super bouyant, and durable, and work really well at fooling trout, even on glassy ,flat water. You can clip the center section of the compara dun wing, streamside,if you get caught short without the right spinner pattern, and use them during a spinner fall too.Very versatile flies...good luck.

Keogh dry fly necks are a great buy. Janns has a good selection at around $35. You get a ton of flies out of them.
