Oh yeah...I love the hoppers. There's a box in my vest most of the summer. I inevitably go back to swinging streamers most trips. I love fishing streamers.

Lost my container of dry flies in the river 2night, bye bye all gone. That's OK never had luck with them anyways. Woolly Buggers Rock!!! Is there a better fly out there?

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Ok guys, I need some advise, would like to get a new tying vise, got enough other "vises" ;)
I have an old Herters vise I bought back in the 70's, and a newer piece of chinese crap that the hooks move
all the time in. I can't justify spending the $200 on a good one, anybody got any recommendations.
I got a new fly I need to post pics of, real simple and should work well for mixed species, as well as a really good
flosser on the Salmon river  ;D

What kind of water are you fishing?

What clousers are you trying?

The Mohawk river and Barge canal, plenty of bass in both. White and chartreuse, white and brown clousers that i tied :o (maybe that's why they don't work) sizes 4 & 6. Been catching everything that swims in those waters with a #10 olive woolly bugger.

Downsize!

I've caught more bass on these flies than any other in my collection.

#10 and 12.

Maybe that Furled Leader guy will dig up a couple of samples for you  ;)

OK, will do ;D.
It seems like every video i watched on Youtube, they were tying those clousers on a big hook.

I've never put up a Utube video...but I'm thinking about it.

With thunderstorms this morning Im stuck inside to tie. I made a few of each of these to use later in the fall. I fish this using a spinning rod, add a split shot 12" up from the hook and jig horizontally. Its always good for walleye and smallmouth. My father fished bucktail streamers a lot in and around the Binghamton area in the 30s & 40s and called these Susquehanna Streamers.

White, Red and Chartreuse Bucktail with silver tinsle

Red and White Bucktail with silver tinsel (my favorite)

I was out using a clouser in a stream that was up and fairly fast for this time of year. Slow swinging drifts yielded some nice smallmouth and rock bass. I picked a few dozen crayfish for tomorrow morning as a bonus.
