Used to be I could go 4-5 years...now it's every 9 months :-\ . They're  telling me cataract surgery is in my future. I think they like my health insurance. Maybe I should get the cheap stuff. Bet my prognosis would instantly improve.

If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Played with a Tricos spinner pattern today. I started at # 20 tmc 100s. I'm working my way down. A good test for the old eyes and new bench setup. So far....so good.

I did Palmer a few but my capes aren't really suitable for these tiny flies. I'll have to go looking :-\ wasn't really sure what length to make the wings so I kinda varied them.

Nice work RG. I like the ones with the cream butt. I used to have some awesome success on one stream with s
Tricos just like them except with a hot pink butt.  ;D
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.
The brook trout is the prom queen of the trout world, and a promiscuous prom queen at that!

Supposed to be a female vs the all black male. I'm a wannabe trout fisher getting some help from friends who actually know what they're doing.

I'll keep at it till I get something that catches a fish ;D

It's not really that difficult to tie. Just need a little practice. I'm hoping to do some free classes this year. We'll have to save you a spot ;D

I'm alright tying the bigger easier stuff.. Simple streamers and wooly buggers .. Can't get the hands to work on the delicate stuff... And yeah I would be interested in tying classes if they were close enough or me to get to lol

Rg that is one hell of a lair.  I wish I was that organized and put together.
The only thing I have tried (can tie) are nymphs,  streamers of sorts, eggs and teasers.  I would not mind tying some dry fly's but have been intimidated by the sizes and complicity of them.  I have a lot of the material.

They're easier than you think. Just don't try to start with  size 24 teeny tiny thing. Heres a great site with a ton of how too's.

http://stevenojai.tripod.com/homepage.htm also search Davie McPhail on YouTube. One of the very best in the world in my opinion. A ton of great videos and simple techniques.

I reference a bunch of sites on a regular basis.
