If you lend someone $20 and never see that person again, it was probably worth it.

Post away ;D

I was washed out this morning. Creek came up over a foot. Made 2 tries at the canal before and after the rain. Managed a few bass and bluegills.

Nice fly Boon. Must float like a cork.

So, from a closeup it looks like you tie in the deer hair with the tips facing forward then fold them back over the butt ends leaving the butt ends for the under body. Correct?

that is correct and you will need a tool like the bullet head tools to fold it back to get the nice neat head... but don't forget the partial extended body out back to...

Rubber washers from Home Depot or Lowes do the same thing. Been using them for years. There's a dace pattern I tie like that for the local streams.

Find them in the hardware aisle in the specialty drawers. The renzetti is a cute little tool though and cheap enough at around $7. But the washers work well too. They're thin and come with a few different sized holes. A couple for a buck.

I like that tip!!

Welcome back folks! Here's our man Rg, "The Frugal Fly Tier" with his tip of the week!  ;D  That's a good idea! Kinda like why should anyone pay for a half hitch tool (if that's what they prefer) when an empty ball point pen shell does the same thing?

One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.
The brook trout is the prom queen of the trout world, and a promiscuous prom queen at that!
