Nice tube Centerpin!

Like BigRed, I also bling up my egg patterns with a loop or 2 or diamond braid.  If I had JUST ONE color to carry in an egg pattern it would be Oregon Cheese. Niagara Gold close second.

Will be chasing esox next weekend.  Been tying up some meat.  Couple of perch inspired streamers.....

Yep, them steelheads do enjoy bright gawdy nymphs.  My purple egg-sucking stones.  I tie them on a Jig/fly style hook for less hang ups on the bottom.

So what your saying is I taught an old dog a new trick? ... :D

I usually like to fish when the waters have a little color to them.  In those circumstances the colored bead sticks out a bit better.  It can also represent an egg to them.

Buddy gave me a box of old flies because "he knew I fly fished". Only problem is..

These are trolling flies aren't they?

Nice looking tandems there Matt. Yup....they're trolling flies, but, don't be afraid to toss them for bass and such.

Matt,

They look like they would work well for Pike or Musky if you have a rod heavy enough to throw them. This is also a prime time of the year to be fishing for those predators over the weed tops and along weed edges in lakes where they're found.

Those are sweet.  A big 'ol brown in a stream would take one off those, too.   ;D
One more with the one we're after and we'll have two.

Tying some nighttime Crappie Ice Jigs.......The chartreuse body is glow yarn.  Simple and effective!
