Dredging of Pine Lake Channel
« on: Apr 09, 2004, 11:38 PM »
I read in the Newspaper about the low water level in the channel linking Stone and Pine lake..anyone try going through the tunnel yet? The article stated there were spots dried up,and they would have to dredge the channel.
I would appreciate any info on this subject.

Rotney 72 , Went out to laporte last friday with my son.  water level is very low and the channel had sand bags across it to keep you from entering. water was maybe 6" at best and sand showing in parts. I wish  I  had called Kaast bait first to check on conditions, long drive from Hobart for a few small blue gill.  Could have gotten them in lake george. lol. Good luck.

The public ramp on pine lake is unuseable, not that it was much good last year.
It needs to be dredged also and the ramp on stone lake is pretty bad from the power loading-FIP'S if your from around here you know what that means
Any one know where you can put in?

What a shame. This is a great  lake to fish during spring. Great to see our increased license fees doing little again.

They are going to be dredging out the channel starting the week of the 15th, I beleive.I am thinking that it is going to take a good week to do the job.  they are planning on taking out 7 feet of sediment off of the bottom.
