For some reason an auto commercial made me think of the first car I ever owned.
A 1962 Rambler American.

My own first car was a '59 Buick I bought in 1965 after I got out of the Navy. I did go in 25% on a '50 Olds while in the Navy in Hawaii to haul our Scuba gear around....h2l

1951 MG-TD Roadster. I bought it on April Fools day in 1961 when I was a senior in high school. I did not have it very long as I got on a road that was closed on the other end but not where I got on it due to the frost going out making it almost impassable. I blew first gear out of the transmission getting through the mud. Later on it became daylight drive only as the motor would quit if I turned on the head lights. I could have gotten all of the parts needed to fix it later on as a local bar owner had his brother flying parts from England for him for the 54 Jag he was working on in the bomb bay of the Airforce bomber he was flying. I could have gotten what I needed through his brother. I ended up trading it for a 55 Chevy.
RAQ I thought better of you. Mustard yellow!!!

1968 Chevy Bel Air, had a 250 straight six in it. Sipped gas and could haul as much and as many as a small pickup. Small boat or canoe on top. It was like a forerunner to the modern crewcabs.
