Best bet's for this weekend?
« on: Mar 26, 2004, 11:19 AM »
OK guys, what do you think are the best possibilities for hooking up this weekend?

In my area, if the sun pops out and gets the water temp's up a bit...  the best bet may be crappies and yellow perch in the Lehigh River. Of course the trout should be cooperating on the local limestone streams as well...  blue-winged olives should continue to hatch in the late mornings.

I'm deciding whether to go for channel cats in the Susky or crappie and bass at Frances Slocum lake.I usually have better luck at the river, but I'd like to get some fillets for the freezer so I might go to the lake.

Tried the Delaware in Easton today in my boat.  Got a couple smallies and a catfish on Floating jig heads with worms.  Put down a flutter spoon and a dart for an hour or so trying for Shad....nothing...  I was marking fish on the fish finder.  I was told the water was around 47 degrees.

Wear your PFD's!!!  There were a few guys standing on the bow of their boats while under power without them.  47 degree water will take your breath away real fast.

There was even a couple of fools in a Jet Ski zipping up and down the river.
