Furunculosis
« on: Mar 21, 2014, 06:31 AM »
Looks like another round of infected fish this time Brookies. More bad news for NJ trout fishing this year. Between the weather the past 4 months and the reduced numbers of fish it won't be a banner year. I wonder how many brood stock will be stocked in streams?

I always laugh when others ask questions on the internet since the answer is usually at their finger tips and thus I found the answer to my own question. At least for Lakes and ponds. http://www.state.nj.us/dep/fgw/bonus_brdstk14.htm

Since they have the brood stock "on hand" it would seem that a fair amount will be put in the stream system. Maybe it won't be so bad after all.

Jim's article shows how the stocking results in fewer overall fish this year and highlights the changes:- http://www.dailyrecord.com/article/20140331/NJCOLUMNIST4001/303310022/Anglers-should-expect-changes-with-trout
